Default Can Short term disability insurance be combined with Workers Comp?

I have a work related injury-surgery coming up in September.It will be on Workers Comp, of course. But I also have been paying into Short Term Disability. Can i draw upon the STD to compensate for the short fall of income from Workers Comp? ------

Yes, but this will not be cumulative. The second policy will overtake when you are forced to be off from work due to an injury, whether it is acquired from work place or not.
