Default Paralegal at a Family Law firm and will interview for a Personal Injury law firm.?

I live in San Diego, CA and I have about 3 years experience. I am making $45,000 right now definitely underpaid. What salary should I ask for at the personal injury law firm for a solo attorney?I live in CA although there are lots of attorneys and law schools, there are still jobs. This recession is man made by the media. Businesses are taking advantage of it and raising prices, etc., etc. ------

Umm..there is nothing wrong with your question, so I don't know why this other person is telling you what to do. She posts this SAME"info"constantly.I am just starting school to get my paralegal certificate. Combined with my BA, I think this is a great idea. Did lots of research and jobs are not drying up.Anyway, I think where you live is a big factor. I know the cost of living is high where you are (I am on the opposite side of the country, and it is bad here, too).Have you been able to see what attorneys in your area are paying? I think the problem you may have is that this is a solo attorney. Out here, they do not pay as much as the bigger firms in many cases. You have 3 years of experience. Will that help you with the personal injury aspect? I know the actual law firm experience will, but I am not sure how it crosses over.Do you have to give a salary? If not, maybe you could let the attorney divulge it. I wish I could give you more advice, but I am not sure what I would do if it were me. I guess you have to balance the firm size with your experience and come to an idea. Also, are you going to be doing EVERYTHING in the firm/the only employee? That would make a big difference, too.I wish you luck!!!!!!! ------
