Does the lemon law apply to a salvaged car bought privately?

Im in California and i bought a car with a warped frame, we weren't made aware of this at the time of purchase, but it was made as is with no warranty.so my question is, is it illegal for them to sell me a car without me being made aware of this.i asked a CHP officer and he said it was illegal to drive with the frame crooked. ------
