Default Driving Violations?

I currently have four total on my record all were infractions back in 2002 and 2003. I'm currently going through the background process with the riverside county sheriff's department. As long as I don't have any misdemeanors I should be fine?I spoke to a recruiter today and he said that three is the maximum citations for the past three years. thanks! ------

They will still show up on the background check, but as long as you paid off all the fines, driving violations from 5 years ago will have no bearing on their decision. ------

When they ask be up front and honest. Most people have traffic violations when they are hired. I know sgt's who have had violations when they got hired! ------

No, I realize that was 4 years ago. But, their are some candidates that have no violations. You better have something on the ball that they can really use --Associates Degree... If you are going heads up as a high school grad--don't think you will cut the mustard. The other person with the Hi Sch Dip with no infractions---gets hired... ------

depending on your department, it may be different, but in my area you would be fine, if you have unpaid tickets you should pay those off, and you should be ok. hopefully the others who are trying to get the position have some too so it is even! good luck and drive safe! ------

It all depends on what those infractions are. If it's any kind of moving violations then it's a problem. Moving violations are a insurance risk with insurance companies or any kind of company that need someone with a clean driving record. Moving violations stay on MVR's(motor vehicle reports) for three years. DUI's five years. If you have your license suspended it definitely keeps you from being able to get around. Having your license revoked is harder to get re-instated than it is if it's suspended. Also it depends on how many points you have on your license.I know it's a bit broad than what you asked but I thought I'd give a little bit more info. ------

It depends on where you get hired. Because of the fact that they were a few years ago you should be ok. They may ask you to explain why though. I have heard of some departments not hiring someone because of a bad driving record. ------

Most people do not have 4 infractions in the past five years. You will be at the bottom of the list as there will be many candidates above you with no infractions. At the very least I hope the infractions were for speed/red light/etc and not for DUI. ------

You didn't say what the citations were for.If they were for moving violations, I'd suggest that you would not be fine. Agencies don't need to be hiring people with four moving violations in the last few years when there are dozens of other people waiting to be hired with clean driving records. ------
