This article explains how to remove the keypad from the Toshiba Laptop. This is useful when you need to change a faulty keyboard.
* 1 Toshiba Laptop keypad strip Place the laptop on a flat even surface and open. Gently pry up the keyboard protector strip which sits at the top of the keyboard. . Lift each end and then lift the centre. Do not completely remove at this point and do not force it at any time. * 2 Toshiba Laptop Keyboard removal Push the laptop screen flat. It should be 180 degrees and flat on the table. Now you will be able to remove the two rounded clips and lift the entire strip off. * 3 You now have 2 screws exposed. Remove these and lift the keyboard out. Slide the keyboard up a little as you lift it out. At this point the ribbon cable is still connected so do not pull the keyboard out completely. * 4 Toshiba Laptop Keyboard cable removal Hold the keyboard at an angle to access the connector beneath. Lift the plastic latches at eaither end of the connector and release the cable. Your Toshiba Laptop Keyboard is free. Tips & Warnings * Be gentle. these keyboards are quite delicate * Keep the ribbon cable straight during removal |
