A consumer is a person who buys a commodity from another person.A consumer is also a person who may require or buy the services of another person.Eg: 1) you're hiring a person to clean out your garden.(requiring a service).Eg: 2) you're paying a maid for your daily work suh as making food etc. (buying a service)The rights of the consumer are as follows:1)Right to safety: A consumer has the right to demand safe goods.2)Right to choose: A consumer has the right to choose the good among a variety of goods which he/she likes.3)Right to seek redressal: A consumer has the right to seek justice if he/she has been cheated by someone.4)Right to be informed: A consumer has the right to demand information regarding a certain good.5)Right to be heard: A consumer has the right to express himself in the jurisdiction if he/she has been cheated.6)Right to consumer education: A consumer has the right to make himself aware of consumer'evils'in the society.For more details refer The Consumer Protection Act, 1986, NCDRC ------
